“When we sent out a casting call, we had about four parts that called for a male role. When we got back submissions, we were absolutely blown away by the work Norm Magnusson showed us. We joked amongst ourselves that we wanted him to play all of the roles — but we were kind of serious. He brought excellent understanding and strong character choices to each separate role. In the end, we decided we needed him for our co-lead, although it was painful to see him not perform the other roles. Working with Norm was a pleasure, to say the least. We began rehearsals by talking about the script and what we were trying to achieve. Norm was immediately on the same page as us and took to his role like a fish in water. Any direction I gave him, he took brilliantly, bringing his own understanding to the narrative and character, while respecting and maintaining the choices we asked of him directorially. On set, Norm was a consummate professional and gave class-act performances. He was patient with us while we worked on getting the technical things right, and was very supportive of the process as a whole. He even provided us with a location — his house — which we desperately needed to finish the film, and helped us greatly as we had such a constricted budget.” —Director Taylor Seupel, “Suicide Eyes” (short film)

“I don't know exactly what Edward Albee was expecting when Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf was first produced, but Norm, as George, was just wonderful. He went from lovely and engaging to fucking frightening, scary, total wackjob, and back to warm and lovely. Holyshit, he was just great!” —Producer Jonathan Burkhart.
